is it weird that I don't find children playing entertaining?

So here's the thing, I like kids. I don't have any but I might want one some day but I don't know yet. I know some people are baby people and some people aren't. I know people that fawn over kids and think they're the cutest thing in the world and they're always oooing and ahhing at the cute things they do. I'm just not one of those people. Kids are cute and everything, when they're behaving anyway, but I'm just not one that sits there and just goes "oh my god look how adorable he/she is and look at the cute things they're doing!" I was with my boyfriends family for Christmas dinner and he has a little cousin who is 2. She's adorable but I just didn't find entertainment in her just being a cute 2 year old. She was going around and trying on peoples shoes and everyone was just watching her and thinking it was the cutest thing in the world. And I'm just not that person that just oooos and awes about kids just doing kid things. I feel like it doesn't mean I don't like kids or that I won't ever want them, but I don't know if it comes off that way. Opinions?

I think it'll be different once you have your own kid. I don't care about other people's kids but when I think about having my own I know I'm gonna think the dumbest shit they do is cute

That's what I said. If it was my kid I'd probably think everything they did was the cutest thing in the world. Because that's how I feel about my cats lol. My boyfriends little cousin speaks very well for being 2 and you can understand her most of the time but she is also a toddler and I have no idea what in the world she is doing half the time and I just dont have the attention span to watch her do her toddler thing. It's just not that entertaining to me. I've also only been with my boyfriend for 6 months so I'm relatively new to the family. So Christmas was only the second time I had ever met his cousins (the parents of the two year old.) and the first time I met them was back in like August. So I don't want to "step on anyone's toes" so to speak because I know some parents are particular about people they don't know well playing with their kids.

I'm with you on this for children in general.  However I could watch my nephew watching TV or playing with his trains for hours.  I love the children in my family but others I find less than appealing day to day.  However I can't wait to have my own

Don't let society force you into thinking you have to have a family. There is nothing wrong with not wanting kids. Ask Jennifer Aniston! My husband and I talk about just traveling and fulfilling our dreams

I'm the same way. Or it'll be cute for like, 5 seconds and then I'm bored with it. My husband's niece used to do this thing where she'd say his dog was hers. Was cute first time. But then they'd make sure she'd say it every single time we saw them and it got super annoying. 
What I hate worse is when parents say so and so wants to talk to you and they put the baby/kid on the phone. Can't understand them yet have to pretend to and fake interest. I'm sorry. I called YOU. Not the kid. I have stuff to say. 
I love kids. And lately have greatly been wanting one. But I don't understand how people are. I'm just hoping it's like they say, when it's your own kid it's different.
