what can cause blood when not on period

I am on the pill which is great, it helps with my periods and not getting pregnant. Here is my question when having intercourse my mucus turned red so it had some blood in it. I finished my period two weeks ago so what would cause this??

This used to happen to me a lot!! I went to the doctor and she said it might be my birth control. Something about hormones that I'm getting too much of something and not enough of the other I think. Idk, but she told me that I should switch birth controls by the end of it. I ended up not switching and eventually the bleeding stopped. So that could maybe be a possibility? Good luck!!

I have been on the pill for a year now and nothing like this has happened before. I'm just nervous that it could be something serious and it was so embarrassing afterward when my boyfriend told me that I was bleeding. Thanks for the information

You may just be spotting between periods. Especially if this is your first 3 months on the pill. If it worries you try to see a doctor
