So 28th December I went in for my first sweep at 38 weeks and 5 days .. I had been advised to have them done from this point because I had a previous c section and I wanted to do a VBACS .. well my midwife was so impressed baby was already really low and cervix was soft and open but still closed at the top so couldn't fully sweep but stretched ... I was feeling pretty pants all day on Thursday after it but did some sale shopping with mum to keep my mind off feeling rubbish ha.. well I spent most of the night in bed with crampy type pains and just wanted to sleep .. but the joys of pregnancy I couldn't sleep so went downstairs so I didn't disturb hubby who was at work next day to read some of the new birth stories on here 😂... 1am hit and I'd read all the new ones and painted my nails ha! And baby starts going mental and then pressure pushing down but didn't think anything of it .. by half 1 I was thinking.l this isn't right went to toilet and had a clear slimmy discharge and still all the pressure.. time to ring the ward! I was asked to go in straight away due to the previous c section, pack the car up, parents come to look after my 2 year old daughter and off we go .. get to hospital and hubby parks so far away from entrance I was not impressed.. I've been getting this pressure every 2-3 mins and running to the entrance I either pee myself or waters break (it was my waters but hay you can never be sure) .. 3am I am checked and waters have gone from the back and I'm 2cm... left to progress on my own and every contraction more water is going and they are getting stronger and stronger ... 4am and I am 3 and half and let me have a nice bath because my back is killing me I could hack the contractions but my back oh god I was crying with that!! 5am I am laid on the floor telling my husband I can't do it , I'm doing crap!! I need help !!! They come and check me at 6am and I'm 5cm yaaaaay pain relief time .... or not!!! I went from 5-10 cm in a matter or 10 mins ! I got gas and air for 10 mins before being told to spit it out and my body took over .. it's incredible!!! You just push on  your own there is no controlling it .. baby went into distress as I was pushing and they couldn't get heart beat then I heard "we need to cut you we need to get this baby out!!!" I instantly cry looking at my husband telling him I'm sorry I can't do this I can't do this , bang they cut and I scream it hadn't been numbed properly .. they stick me again with numbing and it works (2 cuts I ended up with :"( ) .. then PUSH PUSH !!!! And the head , another push and the body.. them my beautiful daughter is placed in my arms!! 6lb 13.5oz of pure beautiful pinks sqwishiness... we didn't know what we was having so I was thrilled for a little sister for my daughter :) ... I had to have a lot of stitches due to both of the cuts but it meant my daughter was born healthy and happy so I will get over that ... my total labour 5 and half hours start to finish !! The midwifes where amazed at how fast it went and how I managed it without pain relief said I was a fantastic pusher :) .... good luck ladies for your births I couldn't ask for a better birth experience after a previous section ... please meet Kara-Marie Doris Whetton born 30/12/2016 7am weighing 6lb 13.5oz
