Amniotic Fluid Smell?

TMI, I know. But what does amniotic fluid smell like? I've soaked through 3 pairs of panties tonight within a 4-5 hour span. It does not smell like urine but rather sort of sweet/vinegary. Is that what it is?

It shouldnt smell bad. If it has a foul odor, it could be a sign of infection and you need to head for hospital asap. If its green, thats a sign of meconium in the water, which means baby was deprived of oxygen at some point. Again, head for hospital asap and call doc.

If its clear and no foul smell, do your early labor at home where youre comfy and head over when contractions are 5 mins apart. Youve got this! Congrats!!!

Definitely sounds like your water. Make sure to go in. That's what baby lives off of! Labor doesn't always start after your water breaks.

I would call doctor and/or go in. My sister leaked for a few days and developed an infection.
