What to do?!

My mother and sister in law say that they will only watch my daughter if I give them formula to give her. Mind you, she is exclusively breastfed and myself and my husband are military and we have drill. What should I do? I told them I would even put it in bottles and we won't be gone all day. Just from 0600 to 1800 maybe. I'm hell-bent on not giving her formula. So what should I do?

What a bitch. Sorry but that's bitchy. It doesn't matter what she is comfortable with. It's your baby! I wouldn't give my son formula just because the sitter wanted me to. Sorry you're having to deal with that. Maybe your so could talk to her. Idk.

I feel like that is so rude,especially of your mom to do. And it's very inconsiderate....if it were me I would try to find another sitter or send her with the breastmilk anyways. And if she had a problem or fed her formula, I would never ask her for a favor with her granddaughter again. They should both feel ashamed. As family support they should be helpful, not disrespectful towards your preferences

There's some confusion. It's her mother in law not her mother, it says future MIL in the first picture. Regardless, it doesn't change that they are both being unreasonable. Why can't she just follow your wishes? What exactly makes her uncomfortable with breast milk? Find someone else that could watch the baby because if they can't feed her what you want to feed her, they won't want to do what you say when it comes to anything else. Don't budge on this!

They are ridiculous and their reasoning doesn't even make sense! If anything breastmilk is easier because it doesn't require mixing. Just put it in some warm water to heat and that's it. Do you have anyone else that can watch her or does the military offer any type of child care?

Yeah this is ridiculous. It sounds like they are making excuses to not watch your baby.... that makes no sense, you want your baby having breast milk not formula. What the hell is the big deal??? Why would it matter to them if they feed her formula or breast milk when they watch the little one? Especially if you would be preparing it.... they are rude. Try and find someone else you trust to watch your baby.

That's awful,  I'm sorry they are trying to put you in that position.  I don't really get it either  - what's the difference between providing breast milk with clear instructions and formula with instructions... I guess I don't understand why they are 'uncomfortable ' with the breast milk.  You could try sending her with breast milk,  and instructions and if they do something otherwise,  that's the first and last time they watch her.  Clearly they aren't respecting your decisions as a mother if they 'dont see the big deal' 😘 let us know how it how's,  hopefully they do what you ask if you choose to let them watch her
