My son is 4 days old and he slept a full 6 hours through the night. He probably could've slept longer but I woke up him to feed him because I was getting worried. Is this something I should be concerned about or is it normal? How long is too long for him to sleep without feeding?

My baby did the same thing for the first two weeks. He'd sleep a full 6-8 hours if I let him, but the nurses at the hospital told me to wake him up every 2-4 hours, so I started setting an alarm to wake him up every three hours. For the past couple of days, though, he's started waking me up every two and a half hours. He's about 2 1/2 weeks now. I'm not sure how everyone else handles it, but I just do what the nurses told me.

Wake him every 2-3 hours when they're really new they can't wake themselves. My baby ended up losing too much weight and I had to supplement, be cautious and wake to feed until your baby is back to birth weight
