How much do you rely on the pill? (Married or monogamous)

I started the pill just over a week ago and I've heard some girls say that they didn't rely on it until after a month of perfect usage.
Help! When is it safe?

We 100% rely on my BC right now. But I'm very particular about it. No sex 5 days before my period (since we don't pull out) and until 5-7 days after I start my new pack (I also do 3 months on and one month off, as discussed with my doctor). I also have a ton of alarms to remind me to take it so I always take it within 30 minutes of the day before.
But it also wouldn't be detrimental if we got pregnant right now. If it was, we would go back to additionally using condoms with spermicide and also pulling out, in order to make sure we're avoiding it as much as possible.

Most are effective after a week, some become effective after 2 weeks. I just use the pull out method and the pill. I take my pills perfectly so I don't see the need to use condoms which don't feel good.

Tbh I started having unprotected sex the day after I started the pill. Yea I know it ain't a good idea, but it wasn't going to be the end of the world if I ended up pregnant. Here I am a year later and still not preggers lol. Started taking the pill mostly for my periods that were debilitating, heavy, and lasted over a week and it's taking it has given me periods that last for 3-4 days at most and I don't even cramp lol. For your sanity I would've used a condom for the first week, that's what my doctor told me to do anyway. The combination hormone pills are very effective compared to the pills my aunt took back in the day, thank goodness

So long as you can 100% guarantee you will take it perfectly then just use the pill. Bearing in mind that even perfect use only makes it 99% effective. I was on the pill and didn't use condoms, yes I wasn't taking it perfectly but I fell pregnant. A condom would've stopped that from happening. It's up to you if you want to take that risk or not
