Husband only wants a boy?

Question

I'm close to 9 weeks pregnant now, and my husband keeps saying how bad it would be if we had a girl first.

His reasoning is merely that a girl would be "way harder" than a boy, and his older sister was horrible to him (they're about a year apart in age), and that has something to do with it too.

I have a feeling our little bean is a girl, but he's convinced it's going to be a boy.

Am I to assume if it is a girl, he will still be excited and ready? Normally he's very sweet, I don't know what's gotten into him.

Anyone else go through this and have a happy ending?

Gender disappointment is a very real thing for both moms and dads. If it's a girl, it may take him some time to adjust. Just be patient and understanding and he'll come around.

I am 6.5 weeks and my husbands is convinced we are having a boy, he definitely pushes that he wants a boy, I think most men want boys!

My cousin was the same way when his wife was pregnant he was actually extremely mad when he found out he was having a girl and now his daughter is his world, I think it's just normal for men to want a son just how some women want daughters

My best friends husband was so upset at the gender reveal when he found out it was a girl. He was the biggest jerk about it. Wouldn't help pick a name, buy pink things ...you name it. He didn't know how he could relate to a girl cause he had brothers. He didn't want a princess. He wanted a rough mud loving boy. It was selfish and my best friend cried a lot about it cause it just never stopped. Even a year after she was born I asked him when they would have another and he said he didn't want another if it would be a girl. Yes. Complete jerk. But here is the silver lining, when she was over 2 he started to have a change of heart. Their daughter was a little princess but she also loved mud and wrestling etc. He now is ok if the next is a girl. It took warming up. Just give your guy some space about it. My husband wants nothing but girls so he can have the little princess. Watch me have a boy now...crap lol

My friend wanted a boy, ended up with a girl, so he just does all the stuff with her that he otherwise would have done. She loves batman, goes to hockey games with dad, and loves being a part of "family painting day." Gender neutrality has become my friend's area of expertise and his daughter is an awesome kid. The main thing is that he loves her and lets her be whoever she wants to be, which happens to be a little girl who loves "boy" things - as though she was meant to be my friend's daughter. Every kid is different!

I really wanted a boy and my boyfriend really wanted a girl when we got the call that we were having a girl my boyfriend was convinced my world was crushed but honestly it was only ever a preference, i am beyond excited and I'm still just so happy every time I get a call that she's growing healthily. <3

Just don't hope for that boy too hard or you might just get a girl. I do believe gender disappointment is real. I really wanted a girl but I am 25+3  pregnant with a boy. I am going to love my cgild either way because he is of me

He may get touchy (annoyed) when you bring it up. Just hope it's s boy too. He'll be okay when you find out.
