do you think telling people you're pregnant to early is bad luck??

What's your opinions on telling people you're expecting if you're only 5 weeks along? I've always heard it's bad luck to tell people if you're still so early & should wait til at least 12 weeks.

When I had my miscarriage last cycle, I'm glad I told the close friends that I did because I needed all the support I can. My relationships with those people are so much stronger now and I had so much support. I can't imagine not telling them. It's been two months since my miscarriage and I still get asked how I'm feeling about it. In my first pregnancy with my daughter (now 2 y/o), when I told close friends and family early, they brought me food and always checked on how I was. I'm glad I told certain family and friends early because of all the support I've gotten.

I'm 5 weeks tomorrow and I told my parents, bother, and best friend (because I needed a 3rd pair of eyes on the test) but I don't think it's bad luck. I think it's just if you want to wait or not. If something is gonna happen to the baby it can happen at any time (sorry :/ it was hard for me to hear too but they were right) so it's just a matter of if you want to share everything with people or not. I chose to. Mainly because if I lose my baby I want my mom there to help me through it. And I want to ask questions about everything. So,
I don't think it's bad luck, it's just everybody's difference of opinion

This is my second pregnancy and both times I've told just a few close friends and family around the 5-6 week mark. For me it helps to have the support in case something were to go wrong. I like to wait until 12 weeks or more to tell my boss, colleagues or announce in social media, etc.

No really, with my first we announced really early like after BFP, with my second i wanted to keep it a secret for as long as I could 😂 with this one so far Hubby and I are the onlyones tgat know we will be announcing around easter or something like that it depends how much i can hide it

We chose to tell our immediate family right away. We plan on telling a few more close family members/friends after my first prenatal appt. Then we'll be public in my second trimester. Although, I did also tell a coworker/friend right away because I wanted to have an "ally" at work - just someone to have my back when I'm exhausted/spacey/nauseous/etc.

If you believe its going to be bad luck then it probably will be :/ in our family no one announces it until the end of first semester
