Do you think a 10 year old can shave her legs?

Me and my SO have been going back and forth about this for WEEKS now!! My daughter just turned ten recently and has asked a few times if she could shave because she doesn't like her leg hair. Now she doesn't really have dark hair, more blonde not really noticeable at all. But obviously she notices it and is insecure and I think she is at the age where if I show her how to safely and properly shave her legs it's OK. But her father doesn't agree he says she's too young! I don't want to go against what he says but I don't really feel he has any valid reason why she can't and I think that's when I started shaving was around that time. Do you think it's okay to let a 10 year old do this?

Start with Nair or a like product.
I didn't "shave" until I was 13.
The concern is the fact that she is self conscious at this age. I would definitely focus on that factor. She needs to know it's natural ex. and nothing to be ashamed of. I was taught it was a part of personal hygiene and was given Nair until my mother felt my hair growth deemed a razor. It was never really about the safety aspect of shaving but more along the lines of I really didn't need to shave my little baby hairs.

At 10, I wanted to shave my legs and my parents wouldn't let me, mostly my dad of course lol so I snuck and started shaving one day until I cut the crap out of my leg so I had to tell my mom. She then showed me how to shave.

I think under your supervision that it's perfectly acceptable. I had darker hairs on my legs growing up and I was so self conscious.

My mom would do shaving or nair with me starting g when I was 10. She wouldn't let me do it alone, and only up to the knee because my thighs really shouldn't be showing much (lol I know.)

Is he against it because he's afraid she will accidentally cut herself? If so what about starting with a cream like NAIR? Also, electric shavers are much safer than disposables too.

I was 10 the first time I shaved, but with very different circumstances. My step mom noticed I had long light hair in my legs and told me it was nasty, gave me a disposable razor and said go shave your damn legs...
Honestly, I wish I didn't. I wish that at 10 years old I didn't have to start worrying about how I looked for other people. That same year I got made fun of by boys at school for not having as big of boobs as my bff, but that's a different story entirely. 
I think it's an acceptable age for her to shave if she wants to. But teach her that body hair is natural, she will get more in other places (would you let her shave there if she wanted to? - kinda glad I only have boys for this reason), and there is the possibility that the hair will start getting darker the more she shaves so by that point is more noticable and 'required' by society to shave very often, and make sure she knows she is still beautiful regardless of she shaves or not. 
As for everyone suggesting nair, I personally would not let my 10 year old use it. It's a chemical that can be very harmful. Chemical burn and allergic reaction are a huge thing with these types of hair removal chemicals. I had an adult friend who followed instructions perfectly and had horrible chemical burn that hurt for weeks.
And explain to your husband that just because he says no doesn't mean she won't. Learning how to shave from mom is much better than figuring it out in your own, trust me!

I was about eight when I started shaving to be honest. I never had dark hairs or that much either but it was just a personal insecurity. My mom didn't know, i would just use the razors she'd leave in the tub. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, but she's yalls child not any of ours, if you think she's ready, have a talk with your husband. He's not a lady so he doesn't understand 😂

I'd say it's fine. I didn't start shaving my legs until middle school but I remember my mom started shaving my underarms around the fourth grade.

My mom shaved my sisters legs at that age. She was a dancer but didn't like having hair on her legs.

As long as you teach her how and make sure she gets replacement blades/razors when the blade is bad, that sort of thing, I think it's fine if she's the one that wants to do it.
