possible threatened miscarriage

So just over a week ago I found out I was 6weeks pregnant, I was away with family for the holidays. I got back today and found I was bleeding, light-medium for a couple of hours and then it stopped. Went to the emergency doctor who said it was a possible threatened miscarriage but is sending me for a scan in a few days. She did various standard tests (blood pressure etc) which were all fine but the pregnancy test was only a faint result. I'm so worried now and don't know what to think.
