Chronic dry lips??!

I have super dry lips everyday. All the lip balms I have like Chapstick and Burt bees doesn't help whatsoever. They're just constantly dry. Do sugar scrubs/lip masks help? If so what do you recommend?

You might be better using a oil such as coconut.

I would say drink more water and try using a lip moisturizer that does not have petroleum in it because it's common for people to be allergic. If that does not help, see a doctor because you could have an underlying issue that could cause perpetually dry lips. For instance, I believe Hashimoto's causes cracked dry lips. I think fungal infections can also do this and other illnesses too. Go get yourself checked out!

Lots of chap sticks and lip balms have ingredients in them like alcohol which actually dry your lips out more. I use straight up Vaseline on my lips every night when I go to bed and once in a while as needed during the day. I've also noticed my skin in general has been much less dry this winter because I have been making sure to drink plenty of water every day.

Most chapsticks actually make your lips drier I was told by my Dr. And yes a scrub helps. What I've done is use a sugar cube to scrub my lips and after put Vaseline or aquaphor on it.

I had the same problem plus burning and itching-- turns out I am allergic to almost every ingredient in chapstick. I can only use aquaphor. My doc gave me some cream to bring down the irritation and I've been good ever since (as long as I don't use any chapstick and stick to aquaphor).

How much water do you drink? The more water you drink it helps keep your lips hydrated amongst other things like clear skin, less bloat, etc. Scrubs will help with removing dead skin on the lips and then using the balms after will help seal in moisture.
