advice please! bad back pain getting worse with lots of cramping??

I'm 38 weeks today- baby was measuring over 2-3 weeks at my last appt 2 weeks ago. I have been experiencing back pain that has gotten worse throughout the day. Accompanied by bad cramping 6-7 times an hour. Back pain is constant but gets worse when the cramping comes. Tons of what I think are Braxton hicks too. FTM and don't want to be the one that gets sent home or reacts too soon. Any advice or experience stories appreciated! :)
