Am I ready to become pregnant?

I am happily married to my husband and we have been thinking about adding a baby to our family. Asking the experienced, is there ever a good financial time to have a baby? We are worried about paying hospital bills. Do you just have to jump in head first? How much does it cost to have a baby in the hospital?

Different hospitals have different costs for things but it can get pretty pricey. Anything insurance doesn't cover however you can call them and set up a payment plan. 
I don't think there's ever really the perfect time to have a baby, we didn't have a huge savings built up or anything like that but we've made it work without going into debt
