Awkward Pediatrician Visit
So, I wanted some advice because I could be over reacting...
My daughter had her four month check up yesterday afternoon. She goes to a very well known and highly rated pediatricians office, & sees the head honcho, a man. He's kind of a weird man, not going to lie, but like I said people speak very highly of him, and though he's weird, he's nice and seems to get the job done.
My daughter is all about the stranger danger at this point in her life. Any time someone she doesn't know talks to her or tries to hold her, she cries. This was no different at our appointment, no big deal.
The doctor was trying to calm her down by talking to her, saying things like "I know, I know, it's awful.." blah blah.. and then he says, "Call the cops! We have a case of child.. molestation."
There was a pause before he said it because I think he obviously meant child abuse & maybe couldn't find the word..
But it just struck me the wrong way. I made her next appointment with him, but I just couldn't get that out of my head, so this morning I called and made her an appointment with a different doctor in the practice, a woman.
Am I over reacting? Is this weird for a pediatrician? Just a mistake? How would you feel?
