when should I start checking ovulation ?

Please can you give me some advise , I bought a clear blue ovulation test tomorrow with the intention to start asap . After reading it recommends you do it first thing so tomorrow but that will be cd13 . The leaflet suggests I start at cd8 so would you advise I am ok to start tomorrow and get get clear results or be more accurate to wait until next month ? Thanks x

typically ovulation happens anywhere from cd 12-16. You would probably be ok to test this month, but I know those tests are expensive, so if you think you could have already ovulated, maybe wait until next month. Good luck

I started 7 days after my cycle started and tested for 20 days. I gave up thinking it was too soon to ovulate. On day 22 I had some thick cm that wasn't normal so I used my OPK and got a peak ovulation day. This is my first month off birth control so I'm not sure how long my cycle is but it goes to show to test each day to make sure :) also knowing your body helps  knowing the normal and unnormals!
