baby shoe size?

Okay so this might sound stupid, so please no mean comments! I want to buy my baby some cute little vans since he's 10 months and already trying to walk. In baby size he is a size 4, so in vans(not crib shoes) are a size 4 in toddlers would it be the same?

My son will be 10 months Sunday and he is a size 4 as well and yes it's basically toddlers because anything smaller than a 4 is soft bottomed
