When to introduce nuts

My SO thinks we should introduce our LO to nuts soon, he's only 6 months . I always thought it was best to wait . My SO read you should start before they are 1 .  We are in the process of introducing him to veggies then we will move on to fruits . When did you introduce nuts to your LO? I plan on asking the pedi tomorrow at our appointment

I saw on the news about an hour ago introducing peanut / peanut products before one year reduces chances of allergy by approx 70 percent

I just read yesterday that new guidelines suggest introducing peanut product to your baby before age one is best to reduce risk of peanut allergies. However this is opposite of what I've always known. Definitely talk to your dr first

An actual nut is a bad idea at that age (choking) but peanut or another nut butter could be tried. They say introduction earlier limits the likelihood of allergy now. When starting new food I always think start with one thing at a time, ie  that meal only give a bit of peanut butter don't put it on anything, do it on a week day in daylight hours when the weather is okay just in case they have a reaction so medical services are at hand and you aren't dashing to hospital in the dark/bad weather or getting confused what the reaction is to

New study's show you should introduce nuts at 6 months old. Seen it on the news this morning. BUT they said do it while at the doctors in case they would have a reaction. I would call your pedestrian and bring up the idea and ask what they think.

No, you should not introduce nuts until after-year-old for couple of reasons… If they have an allergic reaction, it could be very severe and you may not get to the hospital in time and when they are little like this, they won't last very long if they have a allergic reaction. Secondly, nuts are a choking hazard and should never be given to a baby.
