Reading to baby?

Question

Has anyone been reading to their baby? I have baby books, but my fiancé only read once so far.

I talk to him, usually asking, "What are you doing in there?", or "Noooo, get off my bladder, child!" or, "Go back to sleep, I just needed to switch sides. Don't get excited!" and "Ouch! I hope you kick your father this hard some day!"
 I sing made up, silly stuff all day long to the cats and our dog so he definitely will know what my bad singing voice sounds like by time he arrives. 
We've read some books but for some reason I feel sort of ridiculous doing that! You'd think I'd feel ridiculous for singing and talking to our pets but, nope - reading childrens' books is what makes me feel self conscious.

We've only read a few times specifically to baby but I'm a reading teacher so I like to think she listens to me and my students read all day and will be super smart. 😂 I also have this belly band thing and play music for her to listen to.

I feel bad I haven't read anything. I'm so busy all day that when I get to rest I watch tv.
