TTC after a miscarriage

Hi all, after 6 months of TTC I found I was pregnant in early December. I miscarried on 24th Dec, I'm really confused about when to expect a period. I read online that it would be around 4-6 weeks which would put me in my fertility window now. I have been advised to wait a month before trying again but it just feels like I'm wasting time when I'm so desperate to be pregnant again and I can't find any clear reason as to why I need to wait. Has anyone not waited for a clear cycle? Or have any advice on how to get through the next month without going insane waiting?!
