Club feet?

Question

At my 20 week anatomy scan, Doctor said it appears our baby boy has club feet.  We go back in a couple weeks for another ultrasound to check on it. Dr thinks it's isolated, and everything else looked great. Anyone else experience this?

It's very normal! Ensure when he's born they do an ortho consult and get the surgery on his feet if they recommend it - after surgery there's casting for a short while and maybe boots to turn the feet in, and then just regular visits until he's 4 when they'll cast again or do surgery. I am a social worker for children in care and have many children on my case load with this issue that are just fine! :) best wishes xox

Yep! They also said my little man has club feet. They did an amniocentesis to make sure there wasn't anything in that matter causing it. Luckily all that came back normal and everything else with him is also perfectly healthy. Seems to be that he was in a strange position while his bones were still developing. He also has hyperextended knees which im not sure if club feet caused that. But luckily it can all be fixed with a series of casting and splints once he is born. Also, I learned that if you are having a boy, that it is twice as common in boys to have this than girls and that this is actually a pretty common birth defect!
