Marrying someone with schizophrenia?

Question

I'm engaged to a man and expecting a baby with a man who has schizophrenia.

He's never ever harmed me or talked about harming me but I, especially now I'm heavily pregnant, feel uneasy sometimes.

I discussed the complications with his mother but I just want your advice or experiences with marrying a mentally ill man.

I love him so much he's my whole world.

If he's managing ok with his meds and you are aware of the signs to look out for if he started to become unwell I wouldn't worry a great deal.

However, as I'm sure you know already, schizophrenia can be passed on genetically so keep aware and don't hesitate to seek medical advice when your child gets older

One of my closest friends has this and he has 'triggers' like he knows when he's going to 'flip' we call it. He makes him self distant and closes himself off. 
Most of the time it's controlled by his medication though, I wouldn't worry too much really. Just try and find the tell tail signs before he has a episode. Then perhaps you could try and either avoid those situations again or find some management for him to use. My friend had 3 children 5/3/1 and is married. And him and his wife get on ok. You should have a number you other know in your head or written somewhere handy incase you need it to get in contact with the medical professional involved with him. Just incase he gets out of hand (not saying he will as my friend's wife has never had to use the number and they have been together 7 years) it's just incase. Xxx

It's manageable if he's taking his meds and if his schizophrenia isn't severe.

Schizophrenia is passed on to children almost always (75%). I wouldn't risk having a baby with a man like that...
