Nickname for James - Jamie?

Ok we are seriously considering James Michael for a boys name, but I don't like the nickname Jimmy. I like the nickname Jamie, around the house, but not once he goes to school, he'll go as James of course. My parents are totally pro-James, but anti-Jamie. They think it's too (as my dad would say) "fem-my". I think that's ridiculous and I can call him whatever I want, which I will! But I want to know if you had a son named James would you call him Jamie or no because it sounds too feminine? Please be honest, don't answer yes to not hurt my feelings. I want to know everyone's honest opinion because maybe I'm blowing it!
