Do you agree with assisted suicide (its called in the UK)

I work in palliative/end of life care. I can tell you now, no matter how good I am at my job there is no real dignity in dying. And for those who suffer its heartbreaking  (and some do suffer no matter how much pain meds they're on) one of my patients was final stages oesophagus cancer (at home) and he became too weak to cough up excess fluids I attempted dry up any secretions with medication but ultimatly he spent his last few hours drowning. His family were so distraught by it. But honestly there was nothing more i could have done. I'd argue until the cows come home for the right to medically end ones own life.

I agree with it. We don't let our terminally ill pets suffer in terrible pain, so why should we let our fellow humans?

I don't think that the government or any law  has a say in the right to decide if someone is ready to stop suffering from a terminal illness. If they would like to end their life and not suffer they should have the right to make that choice

There's a documentary on Netflix called how to die in Oregon. Very helpful and eye opening. Highly recommended it.

He goes to Switzerland(?) As it is legal there and finds all the pros and cons to assisted suicide. It's a really good watch! We had to watch it in school.

Yes because I watched my step father suffer for 18 hours, by hours 4 or 5 we knew he wouldn't be making it. Seeing his body just lay there hooked up to all those machines. That's nice way to live. Sometimes you just have to let them go. no matter how hard it is. We didn't pull the plug but the last time he flat lined we didn't bring him back. 😞 but he's definitely in a lot less pain now 😇

Considering that I recently witnessed my grandmothers body shut down. yes I think assisted suicide is great under the right circumstance. 
   She was in a nursing home, got a uti, it went untreated for months, then when they did treat her it was too late. Her potassium was sky high. She was severely dehydrated etc.. they didn't even call the family in until she wouldn't wake up. We sent her to the hospital where they tube fed her, and got her levels back  to normal. But she still wasn't coming around. So they made the choice to unhook her. She was off of all support, unconscious and basically left to starve. They said it could've taken her TWO weeks to pass. It was awful. I never want to have that experience again.

I can't honestly say what "the right circumstances" are. I myself don't know that I could go through with it under any circumstances, but who am I to tell someone else what they must first endure to stop suffering?
