Opinion on really wanting a baby at 17?

Finish school. Go to college. Get a job. Get a place to live. Get settled into the adult world. THEN think about having a child. Don't be selfish. Make sure you have the essentials for your baby. Yes people can make it without some of those things but really struggle. Even now I have all those things and I'm pregnant and struggling to figure out how I'm going to afford things like baby items I'll need later on, big items people aren't going to help us get, healthcare for my kid, and daycare. Even your prenatal care. Most insurance don't cover the child. My mom has good insurance but I'm not covered one bit for my prenatal so I have to get on a medical card and hope I even can. Yes I'll have help from my boyfriend who has a good job, but he also has the house to pay for +other bills. So even for us it's not going to be easy. But a lot easier than if we didn't have all this stuff.

It depends. Are you financially independent? Who would you choose to have a baby with? Have you finished school? Are you able to easily get a job/have a job that can sustain you and your baby?

I'm 25 I had my kids at 21 & 23 honestly wait. Your so young you have no idea how much freedom your going to loose. Instead of finding yourself and having fun being young you'll be up all night changing diapers making bottles and figuring out how to find money for the kids clothes, diapers and food. It's stressful and tiring. I love my children I'm really happy I waited until I was in my 20's and married because no way at 16 or 17 would I have been able to do this. It's a huge responsibility.

I had my son at 19, I was engaged at 17 and married at 18. I love it but it's not for everyone. Just make sure you and your so get along well living together before adding somebody else to the mix, babies are stressful but worth it lol just make sure things are as stable and happy as possible before taking that step ☺️ 
And of course make sure your fiancé is ready for it as well but if you're ready then go for it. Yea it changes your life a lot but that's what some people want. I wanted my son 100% and all the sacrifices and changes are so worth it for him

I have read that you're moving in with your partner soon, i think you should wait until you move in with him and turn 18, just tonsee what hes like to live with and all that stuff... but if you think you guys are fully ready than no one on here can stop you.

Everyone is different. To each their own. I'm 21 and I personally feel I'm not ready for a baby. If you want a baby, sit down and think of everything that goes into it. You're caring for another person. You have to keep this other person alive. You're no longer just thinking about yourself all the time. You have to be mentally, financially, and emotionally prepared to have a baby. Ultimately you and your partners decision. Good luck!

I'm about to be 22 and have baby fever. But I am not excited to not be able to do what I want when I want. Just wait. Be selfish. You have 80 more years of your life left. Spend 10 more on yourself.

I had my daughter at 15. She's a straight A student she's 8 years old now. I raised her on my own practically but her dad thankfully stayed and worked full time. I stopped being a kid I stopped fooling around and being dumb. But I've seen girls my age that can't seem to do it or they go back to it and blame it on the baby. Really think about it. It's an 18+ year commitment.
