IUD experiences?

I'm one month PP and will be getting an IUD put in in a few weeks and I'm absolutely terrified. She said it could break through the wall of my uterus. That doesn't sound pleasing at all. But I've heard some great things about it. What are your experiences?

I've had the mirena for about 5 months now and haven't really had any problems. When I got it, I cramped really bad for a couple days and continued to bleed for weeks. I don't regret getting it though. Just remember, before you let any of these comments freak you out, all birth controls are going to have negatives and horror stories. Do your research but try not to research too much to where you scare yourself.

Please really do some thorough research about IUD's. They are so dangerous for women and though one woman might be ok it is very common to have a ton of side effects from these that most people don't even realize are related. It's not a matter of if but when you will have side effects.

I had the Mirena for two years, loved it, no problems. Didn't gain weight, hormones were very level, no acne!

I had a Mirena for a year after my first baby and it was great until the year mark when I started getting bad headaches, nausea, anxiety and insomnia. I had it taken out in November so my hormones could clear up before we started ttc again, but had a really bad crash. I don't regret getting it, but the side effects sucked.

Paraguard perforated my cervix and had to be removed in an emergency procedure. :-/

I had 2 paraguards and they were great! I'll get a mirena after I give birth.

I've had the paragard twice & never had any issues! A friend of mine had mirena & it pierced her uterus & she ended up getting a nasty infection & needing a hysterectomy. She's had nothing but complications since then.
