5w2d. anyone have an ultrasound around then?

Had my first OB appointment this morning and judging by the ultrasound and "sac" I am estimated about 5w2d but it's only a sac at this point. My dr said that is normal and not worried at all. I go back in 2 weeks and have another done. From everything I'm reading for this stage I should have seen a little tadpole looking thing. Now I'm worried.

It can be normal. Or it can be a blighted ovum. I went in at 5 weeks and a couple days and saw exactly what you saw. A tiny empty sac. Went back 3 weeks later and it was still empty. Doesn't mean that's the case with you. I definitely wish you the best. Just need to keep an open mind and hope for the best, but sadly prepare for the worst.

That can be normal. The embryo typically isn't consistently seen until 6 weeks. This is a good paper reviewing when gestational sac, yolk sac, and embryo are visualized on ultrasound, and may help calm your nerves:

Your provider will probably do a repeat in 7-10 days to reasses.

I had an ultrasound at 5w6d and we could see a sac and a yolk sac. Doctor was happy with it. I go back exactly one week from that and we hope to see a fetal pole.

Mine looks like yours. I had mine last week on 1/4. Measured at 5wks but based on lmp i was 4wks 2 days. I am going back in two weeks. My dr said everything looks normal and how it should be so far.
