Choosing godparents??

We are trying to choose godparents for our daughter...non traditional, we just want her taken care of in case of our passing...we want to choose someone who will still let both sides of our families see her.  If we choose either one of our parents/siblings, the other will never get to see her.  We have a couple friends in mind but it will be the same situation..how did everyone choose your child's godparents?

I'm picking my best friend as my daughter's godmother. She is about to have a daughter of her own amd the girls will only be 7 weeks apart. She was there when my daughter was born and I'll be there when her daughter is born. I just ordered her gift to ask her to be godmother of our daughter

When we were choosing our biggest thing is we would want someone to raise them as we would. We ended up choosing my SO mom. She would never keep the kids away from my family either which is good.

We chose a couple friend then the girls left the husband before our baptism so we chose him since he was my husbands best friend then a chose my BFF.
