Risk of miscarriage at 5 weeks?

Hi all,

I'm 30 and 5 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I've been made to feel terrified that I'm going to have a miscarriage by everyone that I've confided in. Everybody is telling me that I can't relax until 12 weeks. The problem is that I can't sleep or enjoy the fact that I'm pregnant. I a check my pants for blood every half an hour.

At 5 weeks do I still have a 25% chance of loosing this baby? Where I live you don't get a scan until you are 22weeks. I really think I will lose my mind before then...

I'm so terrified! I'm only in the first half of week 4 but bc I had a previous early loss at 5 weeks, I am a wreck. I can't concentrate at all at work. I am either googling symptoms or going to the bathroom. I try to  distract myself but the constant cramping is just a reminder. I am totally with you! I can't wait until the beginning of march- which is my 12 week mark.

I check for blood all the time too! It's like AF all over again, well not really....but you get what I'm saying.

I am in the exact same boat - 30, just about 5 weeks (according to ovulation, not LMP) with my first and absolutely terrified of miscarriage. I can't sleep at night and am so scared I'm doing something wrong. I'm a spin instructor and stopped teaching all together because I'm so afraid - just doing less intense cardio. I've had blood work, but don't go in for my U/S until 2/6. My husband doesn't really know what to do or say. Anything you can do to help encourage a sticky pregnancy?

I am 30 and 5 weeks pregnant as well. I'm nervous about this too. I have an aunt who is a RN and she said that the baby doesn't implant until week 6 so that is where you may see some blood. 
I would say try to focus on how happy you are to be pregnant and talk to your baby every chance you get. This has helped me focus on being happy and excited for our little one. 
Just keep in mind there are so many mom's out there that know their pregnant and abuse their bodies and still carry their babies to term. 
So, be healthy and careful, but try not to stress. Message me if you need to chat.

The risk is unfortunately the same for every woman, with a new pregnancy. I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks 2 days, 4 months ago and am now 5 weeks 1 day pregnant with my rainbow baby! My doctor says I still have that 20% chance that all the others do to miscarry again but more than likely to have a healthy baby after a miscarriage. It really all depends! You don't know it's coming and it cannot be stopped. Good luck to you! ❤ I'm sure you are just fine.
