Would love to know if you are in education. What maternity is available to you? Right now our baby would be born right before the new school year. Honestly I think they only give us one month paid or partially paid. Not sure if it's worth to even go back for the semester and just wait till spring. My poor husband will have to work harder but I can't imagine leaving my baby only after 1 month! :(

My district doesn't offer maternity leave, so I'll be taking sick leave for the first few weeks, FMLA for the rest. Lucky for me, I happened to sign up for the new short term disability plans my district offered in November.

I honestly can't wait to tell my students!

I can use 6 weeks of my paid time off. I think 8 if it's a C-section or there are complications. I honestly don't think it's enough. I wish there were better programs in place!

Preschool intervention specialist. We get 6 weeks which includes using our sick days. I signed up for short term disability through fidelity in November and will be able to take more time and still get my full pay. I just cant alert my doctor until february 1st or i wont be able to use the short term disability due to when the policy starts. I'm due early September which is just a few weeks after school starts, ugh. On top of that they are moving my classroom to another school so I will be setting up my room over the summer. Eww.

I'm a teacher and we get no "official" time, but can use up to three months FMLA and get short-term disability (2/3 of my paycheck). We can also use all of our sick/vacation time. I plan on going back to school in August, having the baby September 9, and not going back to school until January, even if it means some unpaid time!
