sweep?

39+1 weeks! Got my midwife tomorrow to see what's happening! I'm hoping she gives me a sweep.. I mean it's only 5 days early , are they allowed to do that (UK NHS doctor)

I was offered a sweep at 39 + 3 and she couldn't do it as my cervix was closed. I had one done today at 40 + 3 and was able to do one today. She said best results are normally 5-7 days overdue I may need another one on Friday if this doesn't work! UK mum 💙

No they won't sweep you until past 40 weeks

I got booked in for a sweep 5 days before my due date and i'm also living in the UK using NHS hospital

No they won't sweep until your due date for first time mums and sometimes not until 41 weeks if it's not your first baby.

UPDATE:: didn't get a sweep, being induced due to complications :-) baby is OK. Here's hoping all goes well xx

It depends where in the UK you are unfortunately. Different guidelines, I was told not sweeps before 41 weeks this morning, however a friend up north has it printed in her notes that sweeps are offered at 40 weeks. She also get more appointments than me throughout pregnancy
