IUD before having a baby?

I've never had a baby but I'd like an IUD. Has anyone had one before they had a baby? What was your experience?

I had the mirena I'd after I had kids. It is quite uncomfy having it put in! I loved it but I had issues with it after over a year. I couldn't find the wire coming down anymore and it kept moving. Once me and my boyfriend decided to try for another baby we got pregnant the same month I had it removed. Healthy baby with no issues.

I recently had my IUD put in, almost a month ago and I have had no pregnancies or births. To be honest it was the worst 10 minutes of my life because my cervix wouldn't open for my gyno probably due to PCOS/endo and scarring from the cysts. It was definitely the worst pain I've ever had in my life and almost passed out from it. BUT once it was in, I only spotted for a couple hours and I had mild period-like cramps for the first couple weeks leading up to my period. I normally don't cramp ever and my period is usually 3-4 days. My first period after the IUD has been a full 7 days but it hasn't been painful, no cramps after I started, it hasn't been heavier than usual. It's just been inconvenient.

Like I said, it was the worst 10 minutes of my life but it's been. 100% worth it. And some women have reported that their partners experience pain in sex at first because the strings are stiff, however my partner didn't feel anything painful and we had sex just a couple days later. He could feel the strings but they didn't hurt him.

I had mine for 6 years (1 for 5 years and then a new one for a year) after an abortion, and after the initial cramping it was the best thing ever, couldn't feel it and neither could my partner, having a baby was my choice and onyl once I had it taken out (after a controlling partner this is important lol) 
After my second one and a few worse cramps I decided to have it out and now me and my fiancé are ttc baby #1 so in my opinion it was the best thing...

But depends what you want it for and your situation - I also didn't have periods whilst on it....I know a whole 6 years with nothing!! 😍 xxx

My friend got one, said it was the most painful thing!!! She was in so much pain she couldn't move for days afterwards!!!
