It varies From one person to another because when I was on the depo I had light to severe spotting every day for two months straight and then when I switch to the regular pill my period stopped altogether. Make sure to tell your doctor your concerns and if anything they will give you suggestions if you want to try something else.

Yes its birth control not period prevention. The only birth control to stop your period is an IUD, and some bc pills, never heard the shots working that way. Getting your period is a sign you arent pregnant and its working.
