Yesterday I had just started my period and whenever I start my cycle I'm always in the mood.. This morning my boyfriend got up to shower and I had quickly masturbated before I hopped in with him. As I was jumping in, I notice he had his phone and he was watching a short clip of us being intimate.. anyways, I get excited that he wants to have sex; as he puts it in, he pulls out and sees blood and just gives me a disgusted face and said "I'd rather not" (as we're in the shower now)
We've been together 7 months now and I've never had someone make me feel bad/ disgusted by my own period. I don't mind the blood one bit, never have... but my reaction to him was baffled and upset... should I feel that way because he doesn't want "blood on his d" ??

Yes, he knew I was on my period, I asked him to get me tampons from my bathroom before we went to bed the morning this happened. He did know I started my menses.

No. You should have warned him. Some people find that gross and its their right. I find it gross and would never let my husband have sex with me on my period. Yuck. Maybe you should apologize for not warning him or asking him if he was ok with it.

If it really bothers you, talk to him. Tell him you think HIS reaction was inappropriate and ask him why it is he reacted that way. He might just not be comfortable with blood or he might be being immature. A lot of men are immature about periods because they don't understand or know anything about them, it's something they steer away from even knowing.

All of my partners have taken it upon themselves to understand more about periods and know, which made them more compassionate and understanding lovers. They didn't mind the blood (as most men who understand it's not a disgusting female feature do) and they were all for satisfying their partners. Heck, even when my brother started dating he came to me when he had questions society failed to answer to him and with his new understanding he became a better boyfriend to his partners.

Don't get harshly offended at first, he might just be ignorant about what periods are and the fact that they are not a choice. (There are some guys out there that think you can hold or control it you know.)

Lol. I only ever had period sex with my boyfriend once, near the end, really only to be able to say we had. But it was talked about beforehand, he knew to expect blood. We both agreed afterward that we don't care for it at all.

You really should've told him first and I wouldn't be too affected by his initial reaction, as long as he isn't weird about it after.
