Camp pendleton

Does anyone live on camp pendleton in California? My fiance has a chance to be stationed there and I was wondering what's it like? Do you like living on base or would you rather live off? Are the hospitals good on base or would I need to go to one off base. What's y'alls opinion on it? Thanks in advance!
