Let me introduce myself!

Rennelle
Hello! I'm hoping to have nothing but support in this community! My name is Rennelle and I wanted to share my story and introduce myself. I'll start off by sharing that I'm 16 years old, and a mother to two babies! I have a 9 month old daughter, and am currently almost 25 weeks pregnant with my son. I may get judged and looked oddly at that I'm 16 with two kids... but honestly, I don't care what others think of me. My birth control failed and that led to me being pregnant both times. The first time we were only using condoms, and it wasn't until after we finished that we realized there was a very thin tear in the condom. Needless to say, I found out I was pregnant about a month later. I had my daughter, Kingsley, on April 12th 2016! At my 6 week postpartum appointment, I was put on birth control. The patch. The doctor never warned me of anything, so I continued to use the patch the way the instructions told me. On August 21st 2016, I woke up so so so sick. I couldn't stand and couldn't breath. I had some water and layed down for a bit. I got up to go to the bathroom and came across an extra pregnancy test we had in the event of an emergency. I took it. It came up positive within seconds. You could imagine how upset I was. When I went to my doctor to get my pregnancy confirmed, he told me he wasn't surprised to see me back. When I asked him why, he said that he realized after he had prescribed my birth control that it would be defective. It turns out that the patch is defective if you weigh over 190 pounds. I weighed 210 when it was prescribed to me. I was obviously very mad at my doctor and haven't been back to him since. I understand that being a teen mom is hard. I've lived it for 9 months now! My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years, we have our own place, he has a full time job and I'm doing online schooling. We support ourselves 100% and get no help from anyone. I'm currently on track to be graduating a year and half early from high school! I do not regret any of my children, they were both HUGE suprises, but they have changed my life for the better and I wouldn't change that for the world! I'm super excited to be part of a group where I can talk and meet new mommies!
