Ultrasound?

When did yall get yalls first ultrasound? Im 16 weeks and 3 days... and i still haven't gotten one and i won't get one until im 20 weeks. I have seen people get one like at 9 weeks , so i don't understand. Are all clinics different ?

Were you given the option to have FTS screening done? In Ontario you are given the option to test for Down syndrome / nural tube defects at 12 weeks where they give you an ultrasound. And the only reason for ultrasounds before that ( here and considering everything is going well) is for dating if you are unsure of when you got pregnant.

I had a history of miscarriages so I got my first at 6weeks for viability, otherwise it would have been 10 weeks.  Are you in Canada?  I know they tend to wait a while there.

I got one at 6 and 10 weeks and then again when I was 20 weeks
But only because I am at high risk for miscarriage so it was to make sure baby survived.
I see a specialist every other week to see baby and make sure there's still a heartbeat

It depends on where you live. Some places do things a lot different. I got mine at 8 weeks to determine how far along I was. And then at 12 weeks because i got the genetic testing done. And then I had my anatomy scan at 20 weeks to find out gender and to check on all the parts of the baby

I think whether or not you get one depends upon what your insurance covers. If they did not tell you to get one at 11 weeks, it's more than likely that your insurance is not covering that. If you would still like one, you need to request it and pay for it out-of-pocket. Right around 16 to 18 weeks you should get an anatomy scan. These are usually covered by insurance, therefore they should tell you when you need to make the appointment. If they do not advise you, definitely ask!

I had a dating scan at 11 weeks and I should have an anatomy scan coming up next month. I've never heard of them not doing an early ultrasound to make sure baby is ok & confirming the date

Most clinic have their differences and insurances. I'm 17 weeks today and have seen my son 4 times and will see him again next month. One of those was an elective gender scan. My first one was at 5.6 for due date 7.2 to make sure the heartbeat went up. And 11.6 because I lifted something wrong. I thought everyone had two scans though at 12 and 20 but I could be wrong..
