how dangerous is cocaine really?

How dangerous is it for me and my kids to be around him? 
Since I found out my husband is taking drugs again I live at my friends place and only let him see the kids when at least me and my best friend are around. 
He doesnt ever approach them high neither he'd be on drugs when he's around the kids but how dangerous is the drug?

I can't even fathom this enough to give you an in depth answer. It's dangerous. If it weren't it wouldn't be illegal. Not just physically dangerous but do you want your kids growing up think that's normal and okay? They're a lot more intelligent than we give them credit for, they'll know something is going on.

I'd say pretty dangerous for lots of reason. Do you think he'll be making great parenting decisions while he's high? Do you think kids don't notice these things? Do you think drug addicts always keep their stash away from kids? Do you think drug addicts choose kids over drugs? I've never met one who wouldn't throw their kids in front of a bus to save their drug.

My sister, who is 9 years older, used to babysit sit me. She used cocaine. I didn't know what, but I knew something was terribly wrong with her. Her drug abuse cause major chaos in our family. Chaos is horrible for emotional health.

Having him around your kids when he's high qualifies as child endangerment in the eyes of the law and you could be found complicit for it. You could lose your kids. I'd say that alone is reason enough to not allow visits while he's high. If you leave him alone with the kids while he's high, it's even worse in the eyes of the law.

Get a lawyer, write up a separation agreement that requires drug testing before visits.

Very dangerous. If you stay with an active drug addict you risk more than just the potential your children could come into contact with the substance. You could lose your children if someone reports the activity to the police or cps. All of these things should scare you! Plus, I don't know where you are, but fentanyl is being cut with cocain and heroin where I live and overdose deaths are rampant. Bottom line, stay away from addicts!

It's pretty bad. There's withdrawals and anger. It's illegal. If he gets caught and has the kids then cps can take them... I would just stay at a friends house. Don't let your kids around him.

I think the most dangerous thing about cocaine is the fact that people can completely become someone they're usually not when high, I wouldn't want my children around that...when someone is on drugs like that, you never know what to expect from them and if he were to become violent or snap for whatever reason your babies could be in a very bad situation wether you are there or not. Cocaine and most uppers like that give people crazy strength

It is dangerous if a child gets into it, the child will be sent to the hospital. If your child ingests cocaine and has to be sent to the hospital, the chances are you will lose your baby to the system. You may think he's responsible enough to keep it out of the child's reach, but I have to tell you that most drug addicts are not known for being super responsible. On top of that if you allow your child to be around him while he's using, you're basically saying it's OK. And it's just not. If I were you, I would stand your ground and keep doing what you're doing. Supervised visits only.

It is not safe. It can cause a normally nice person to become paranoid and they can lash out irrationally. I'll spare you the details but I worked at a daycare for years and one of the parents was on coke. It made him into a totally different person and he became very violent. It didn't end well - the mom and child were ok but actually left the state to hide.

It's a terrible drug, that turns the nicest people into nasty ones. I lived with a mother who was addicted. Words can't even describe how awful it made her act.
