Pertussis is not some rare disease that people barely get anymore. It's a common and for an infant potentially life threatening respiratory illness. By getting vaccinated you can protect your infant through breastmilk or by being less likely to contract it yourself and therefore pass it onto your baby.

I said it before... Definitely yes! 
My niece almost died as an infant due to pertussis. She had to be in the NICU for 2 weeks. 
Sometimes vaccines do not provide 100% immunity, but the chance of getting it is less with the vaccine that without it.

Pertussis is a deadly disease for newborns that is still extremely prevalent. I have seen babies die because mothers don't follow recommendations. Unless you want to willingly put your brand new baby at risk of that... Get your vaccine.

I don't necessarily like vaccines, I don't fully trust how they are regulated and what is put in them. But I vaccinate my baby and will vaccinate this baby. Getting that shot covers the baby after they are born until they can get the shot on their own (2 months I believe). Look up videos of baby with whooping cough (pertussis) and see if that's something you are willing to risk. Scared the shit outta me

I would if I knew how I would handle the vaccine but just like with my daughter I won't be getting it with this one either. When I was a kid vaccines made me incredibly ill and after I almost died due to being so sick my mom stopped giving me vaccines. I discussed it with my doctor and we both agreed that because we have no idea how my body will react it's probably better not to get it so that I don't put my baby in distress if it were to make me incredibly ill like they used to. As soon as my daughter was big enough to get her own vaccines we started with hers and she's done great so far. I was going to go ahead and try getting vaccinated once my daughter was a little bigger and not so dependent on me but then I got pregnant again lol.
