Netflix & DOULA?

Question

So first of all- if you haven't watched "The Business of Being Born" - turn on Netflix and watch it! Super empowering and eye opening. I learned a lot I had NO clue about.

I am using a regular doctor who I think is pretty open to birth plans and minimal intervention if I choose that route. My question is - is anyone using a doula? If so- can you give me some insight as to that process?

I used a doula with my daughter. Best decision ever!  I did some searching of doulas in my area and found one that I felt would understand what I wanted and was within my budget. Then we met to go over expectations. We hit it off right away. My doula was great at helping with different laboring positions, helping me stay comfortable and worked really well with my husband during labor. Just depends on what you want when it comes to labor support.
