Nipple confusion

Anyone else dealing with nipple confusion? My daughter will be 4 weeks on Saturday and we're exclusively breastfeeding. Just starting using a pacifier tonight because she's been going through the period of purple crying. But when i try to feed her, she can't latch on and gets so frustrated and screams. She had zero problems latching on prior to this. It was nice having an hour or two of no crying with the pacifier but now she can't remember how to latch. Any advice?
