Mastitis?!

Question

Anyone experience having mastitis? I notice a lump after I stopped breastfeeding  near my areola right under my skin. I haven't been having much milk come out anymore and now I'm starting to feel like I'm catching a cold with ache body. Is this indeed mastitis? Would like to know others' experience.

I had mastitis and it was horrible. It started out by feeling like I had the flu- stomach problems, fever, migraine..etc. then after about 12 hours my entire left breast looked and felt sunburned. I had a huge lump on the side of it too. I couldn't even stand to pump it hurt so bad. I ended up having to get medicine from my OB to clear it up.

I had mastitis that turned into an abscess and I had to have it cut and drained. I was hospitalized for five days. Pump and massage the area as much as you can and get an appointment with the doctor. Warm compresses also help.  Do not let it go! The recovery has been a nightmare and I am no longer able to breastfeed.

Sounds like it may be the start of it, heat to the breast and keep pumping or nursing. Hot shower and hand express. I had mastitis 8 days pp I was shaking so bad my husband was bring me water and I told him warm water the cold I couldn't do. If it gets worse see a doctor you may need antibiotics if it's full blown mastitis.
