When to inseminate

Hi Ladies,

I am 100% sure that you girls on here will be able to help me with this.

My partner and I have tracked my cycle for three months now.

We have a donor set up ready for next month for three months and we are only able to get one or two donations a month so...

Question is: today is day 20 and we got a solid positive opk would we inseminate tonight and again tomorrow morning or would we be best to inseminate last night with the darkening opk?

We've got our pots, syringes, pre seed and soft cups all lined up and done loads of research but for some reason now it's coming to crunch time we are getting confused!

Doctors always say it's better to inseminate a little early than late. If you can afford it, try the ClearBlue digital. It will tell you your high days and your peak. Peak usually recommended to be the last insemination day. Good luck! If you have other good body signs like EWCM, then make sure you take that into account and not exclusively rely on the opk

Ok,  so once you receive a full positive Opk you will ovulate anywhere between 12 and 36 hours.  Positive meaning that the test line is as dark or darker than the control line.  I'd make sure to inseminate on positive day and the say after.  Now earlier is better than later,  but the fresher the sperm I think the better,  so if you ovulate at the egg drops at the 12 hour mark sperm will be heading there,  and if it takes 36 hours and you inseminate the day after a positive Opk,  sperm will still be heading there :).

It is totally normal I think for it all to go fuzzy near the time. Everyone is different. Some people get pregnant from a few days before, and it may depend on ewcm (facilitates sperm to uterus) most people go on peak and day after. Good-luck this month, it sounds great!

if you do it before it will already be there. We do the day before ovulation, of ovulation and after. I know that I ovulate soon after I get my positive opk. My lines fade by the next morning usually. our doctor said it's not necessary to do it more than once. I don't necessarily believe that though ...
