Stiches?

I'm 8 days post partum now, and I only had 3 or 4 stitches for two small tears. My question is, how long should they hurt? I'm taking ibuprofen, using my steroid and using witch hazel and STILL am in so much pain that it's hard to stand or sit and I even have to lay with a pillow between my knees. It's not much better than day 1. Is this the average recovery time, or should I be getting some relief at this point?

I guess it depends on the level of pain? I was on Percocet and ibuprofen and still had some discomfort for a few weeks.

I had a small second degree tear and used ice packs for the first few days and ibuprofen for the first week and a half. By the end of the first week it was really only sore if I laughed/coughed or sat on the toilet. By the end of week two I think it was pretty much good to go.

I think the stitches are uncomfortable/itchy/annoying until they come out which is typically around 4-8 weeks. I think if they're still in place at your post natal visit they'll remove them if everything looks good.

It depends... I had an episiotomy so had a fair few stitches and other than feeling constant pressure down there I didn't have any pain and didn't have to take any pain killers after labour (think I took panadol like one time and that was at the hospital because they insisted 😂) some people though it takes a few weeks when everything starts to heal that they start to feel better.
