I'm late...

My period is late by 4 days but my pregnancy tests turn up negative! I used the tests that can tell you BEFORE your first missed period. I don't have any symptoms of pregnancy that I know of... could I be pregnant? Should I see a doctor or wait a week after my missed period and test again?
