annoyed with husband...

Went out last night to my friends bday with my husband. We didn't know any of there friends or family but it was still fun. Anyway, the whole time my husband just sat there and when my girlfriend came up to us and wanted to mingle around with us and introduce us to people my husband said no and he just sat there... he was acting all shy and it really pissed me off. I'm shy too but I still bucked it up and made the best of an awkward situation. Am I wrong in being upset with how he acted?
