Septate Uterus?

Question

Hello everyone! 
Recently I was diagnosed with a septate uterus. I am scheduled to see a fertility doctor soon, but I wanted to see if people had experience with the surgery element.  
How long is recovery?  
How long after recovery were you able to conceive?

Help! Scared! Never had surgery before...

I had a septum removed on the 4th, so I'm still recovering. The first few days I felt like I'd done a very rigorous ab workout and I needed help to get in and out of bed. I found it difficult to urinate the first few times, and bowel movements were either nonexistent or very sore. I took stool softeners and that has helped tremendously. My incisions are healing really well, but keep an eye on the belly button one because they are susceptible to infection, in which case you'd just go to your GP for antibiotics. Obviously I haven't conceived yet, so I can't comment on that. I have PCOS, so that's an added complication that would affect our chances. The septum removal will hopefully increase our chances and we won't have to wait much longer. After 2.5 years and one loss, I think it's our time!! Xx

I had to have two separate surgeries for mine bscause mine pretty much cut my uterus in half. Overall it wasn't bad. I felt fine the day after each surgery and aside from some cramping and minor bleeding. That's about the worse  I went through physically.  I had to abstain from sex for a month the first time because they dilated my cervix I also had to use pads both for recovery and my period Kind of aggravating. But eh could be worse. They didn't give me any sort of restrictions on when we could start trying. We gavenint concieved yet ( it's been about 5 months). But that's mostly do to life getting in the way and I have PCOS.
