Speak Up!
Just wanted to send a positive message to all the ladies who getting frustrated TTC. Speak up when it comes to your fertility!
My husband and I have been TTC for 10 months with no luck. I'm 32, average weight, have regular 28 day cycles and have been off birth control for over a year. We have had well timed sex every month by charting, fertility apps, and using OPKs. I'm healthy and have been taking prenatal vitamins for over a year as well too. My body was even matching the fertile signs predicted by Glow precisely and yet every month BFNs. It wasn't adding up.
We had all the initial testing done - extensive hormonal blood work/preconception genetic testing for me and a semen analysis for him. Everything on paper was normal. I assumed that since my cycles were regular and that I had confirmed ovulations on OPKs (as well as EWCM) that maybe we were just one of those couples that can take a year to conceive. But in my gut I really felt like there was something going on.
Last week I proactively TOLD my OB GYN that I wanted an ultrasound, just to check and make sure I didn't have uterine fibroids or ovarian cysts. Luckily they agreed to it and I went for my appointment last Friday expecting all to still be normal. Come to find out my left ovary looks like PCOS even though I have no symptoms of it. It might be a mild case, but still I had some type of answer. They then immediately referred me to fertility specialist.
I can't help but wonder what if I didn't ask for that ultrasound? Or what if I asked sooner? I could of lost more months TTC not realizing I might need some medical help to make this happen or had an opportunity to seek treatment earlier. It makes me upset but then again, we really did still fit the criteria for a healthy couple under 35 taking a year to conceive.
Regardless I felt the urge to write this for others who might be wondering what's taking so long TTC.
The message is this - Speak Up. Go with your gut. If you feel in your heart that something isn't right don't ignore it. More often than not our intuition may truly guide us to the right path. ❤ Blessings and baby dust to you all! ✨
