court house wedding & reception later

So my and my fiancé have set a date to get married at the court house in April and I am very excited! We are now talking about having a small reception at his grand parents house later in the summer to celebrate with friends & family! I still want to do Save the Dates, so everyone will know when/where we are having our party and that they can book rooms at certain hotels! All of both our families live at least 3 hours away from where me & my fiancé live. So everyone will be traveling no matter what, oh the joys!

Do I just send out the save the dates saying help us celebrate our love? Or how did you ladies do it? I want to get married on our anniversary to make it even more special :)
