This doesn't leave much room for same-sex couples or people that otherwise don't fit a gender binary does it? Maybe once we move past this idea that it's only one person's responsibility to initiate dating we will have less nervous people that have no clue what to do with themselves and more people being straightforward and not playing waiting games.

I was raised that girls don't chase boys, so I never felt it was my place to ask someone out. Then again, I was raised by my traditional, Southern grandparents lol. I stuck to the way I was raised out of comfort, but I really do think anyone can be the one to ask someone out. 😊

I initiated conversation with my SO first. Then he caught on and took the reins 😊 sometimes guys can be slow. If you like them go for it, you never know what can happen!
